  Fun at Expo 2006

  Voyager GTS 125 - JS

I collected my new Sym GTS 125 yesterday from Bury Motorcycles and to say i am impressed, would be a gross understatement. The quality of the Scooter is second to none and the attention to detail leaves nothing to be desired-except the Spotloights that are standard on the 250cc version! I am impressed by the comfort of the ride, linked braking-disc brakes all round; instrumention, which includes a clock, bright L.E.D lighting and decent mirrors. I also love the little touches like a courtesy light to illuminate the under-seat storage area, the cut-off switch that isolates all the power in case of theft, several storage areas, a phone charger, the shield to stop would be thieves damagingn the ignition and the built-in backrest as standard.

I'm looking forward to some decent summer weather and getting some miles under my belt, on what i hope will be an excellent machine over the years.

When I was growing up the choice for people wanting a small capacity machine to go to work on was pretty limited to say the least. Most people at the time used the Honda C90, it was never a stunning machine to look at but it was a cheap and reliable work horse that sold millions around the world. It is still very popular today, especially in the Far East...Read More

The Italians are renowned for creating cars, bikes and scooters which are blessed with style, originality, exclusivity and above all sex appeal. The Taiwanese on the other hand are not - or should I say they weren’t...Read More

Feet Forward - To Infinity and Beyond - Iggy

Joyride; the name conjures up images of reckless youths causing misery and havoc in a stolen hatchback as they evade the pursuing Police helicopter and swerve to avoid the stinger being thrown into the road by the traffic cop, the sound of glass smashing and metal buckling as they lose control…Read More

Taiwanese scooters have never been the prettiest looking machines, people may say ‘you don’t look at the mantle piece whilst poking the fire’… but they’d be lying!...Read More

We all know the saying “You should never judge a book by its cover” but sometimes you have to blow the cobwebs off the cover and read a few pages before you can get your teeth into what turns out to be a good novel...Read More

Scooters, Sunshine and Quads in Provence - Iggy

If you’ve ever wished you could fly around the world testing the latest scooters and thought what a laugh it’d be, lounging around the pool, soaking up the cosmopolitan atmosphere, watching the ladeez - and maybe even doing a bit of riding whilst you’re there well it’s not all fun and games I can assure you...Read More

On Test, SYM Voyager 250 - Prototype - Iggy

Since the bottom dropped out of the scooter market in Europe eighteen months ago most manufacturers put their scooter development programs on hold for a while, but it seems the Far Eastern manufacturers are quite happy to keep producing new models and, for Sym at least, it’s still happy days as their share of the UK scooter market keeps increasing...Read More

The SYM Mio 50 - Iggy

Recently I was over in the South of France at a Sym launch and unfortunately we ran out of time to get a proper go on the little 50cc Mio so I took a trip down to damp and dismal Derby to take it out for a proper blast...Read More
